Is the CIM Certificate in Marketing suitable for me?

To study for this course you will need any relevant Level 3 qualification (CIM or other), A levels or a UK degree or an international equivalent.  You are likely to have been in a marketing role for up to three years, perhaps as a marketing assistant, co-ordinator, executive or similar.

What will I learn in the CIM Certificate in Marketing?

By the end of this course you should be able to manage the elements of the marketing mix to suit your different customer groups, to select the communications and digital tools to appeal to your different audiences and to make every step of your customers’ experience better!

CIM Certificate in Marketing Course Structure

To gain the qualification, you will need to study two mandatory modules (Marketing and Integrated Communication) and one elective module (either Digital Marketing or Customer Experience). It is the choice of this elective which will determine the title of the qualification that you receive from CIM.

If you choose the Digital Marketing option, your qualification title will be: “CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing (Digital Marketing)”.

If you choose the Customer Experience option, your qualification will be “CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Marketing (Customer Experience)”.

If, at a later date, you pass the fourth module, you can ask CIM to renew your Certificate with the alternative qualification title.

Modular Pathway: The Level 4 qualification is designed with flexibility with options to complete a whole qualification or simply an award. If you complete one module you can achieve an individual award. These certificates are awarded for a £25 fee to CIM.

 

CIM Certificate in Marketing Course Modules

Marketing (Mandatory)

You will learn the core principles and roles of marketing and why marketing is so critical to the success of an organisation. You will learn about customer behaviour and effective targeting,the external environment and how it influences marketing planning and how to use the the marketing mix or 7Ps.

Integrated Communications (Mandatory)

Your second module covers the importance of effective internal and external communications and the basics of a marketing communication plan.  You will also learn about brand management and the communications mix. This module is assessed via a work based assignment so you will learn how to use your new skills in the context of your chosen organisation.

  • Customer Experience (Elective)

    This fascinating module provides you the skills to understand and enhance the customer experience.  You will learn about a range of tools to help you assess customer expectations for your own organisation. Finally you will learn techniques to improve customer experience, thereby increasing customer loyalty, lifetime value and ultimately profitability for your organisation.

  • Digital Marketing (Elective)

    Digital marketing is a core skill for many organisations. This module helps you develop the core digital marketing skills to improve the digital marketing effectiveness of your organisation.  You will learn about the challenges and opportunities within the digital environment. You will learn skills and tools required to support and enhance marketing activities as well as techniques to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing activity.
