Prior to this, she headed up marketing and research in Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the American business magazine, Forbes, promoting advertising to companies and advertising agencies. She was previously Marketing Manager for a leading environmental engineering consultancy, worked for 4 years in advertising marketing for The Economist Newspaper as a global senior marketer and spent 4 years at IPC Media in a similar role. Her experience also includes freelance marketing and communication roles in the not-for-profit sector, regional newspapers, PR and for an international media agency.
Cheryl holds the CIM Certificate in Marketing, Advanced Certificate and Post-Graduate Diploma as well as a MA in Marketing from London Metropolitan University. She achieved Chartered Marketer status in 2006. Cheryl is currently studying for a PGCE in Lifelong Learning at the University of Greenwich to back up her practical experience in teaching.
She has lectured since 2005 at Oxford Brookes University, The Marketers Forum, BPP Learning Media and London Metropolitan University teaching the CIM Professional Certificate, CIM Professional Diploma, the Global Marketer Programme and the MRS Advanced Certificate.
Cheryl is the class tutor and assessor on the MRS Advanced Certificate at The Marketers Forum, teaches the CIM Certificate Marketing Research & Information module, CIM Diploma Project Management module and supports the Managing Marketing, Delivering Customer Value and Marketing Planning Process modules as a feedback tutor, additional classroom tutor and with the creation of learning materials. Student feedback has rated her as an excellent lecturer who goes the extra mile with well-prepared notes and slides and relevant real-life examples particularly in the B2B sector.
Cheryl has recently been awarded her PGCE in Lifelong Learning with the University of Greenwich and was graded Level 1 Outstanding (July 2012).
